Wait a minute. Shouldn’t Batton Thomas, Creator of the Syndicated Comic Strip “Three O’Clock High,” be hanging around the KK so he rhapsodize about how as a young boy he sat on the front porch reading “Black Raven” #1 one lazy Summer afternoon, and how he forgot all about his worries as it transported him to a world of fantasy and adventure, and how it inspired him to pursue a career as a cartoonist? Oh, well, maybe tomorrow. In the meantime, good to know that Dead Skunkhead John couldn’t be bothered to take time out during the jump from FW to C’Shaft to change his furshlugginer shirt.
OK, so if this is taking place at the same time as the Funkyverse, maybe we’ll find out what John’s going to do now that Montoni’s is closed and he is either going to have a new landlord or he’ll be forced to move out and find somewhere else for his store.
Ms. McKenzie, you didn’t short him. If anything he shorted YOU. Apparently that Black Raven #1 is worth a lot. Maybe not the value of the Action comics where Superman first appeared, or, the Detective Comics with Batman’s first appearance, but still some very nice “coin” for something that originally cost only 12 cents.

“By the way, I’ve been wearing this same ‘Batman’ t-shirt since 1990… and it’s never even seen a washing machine!”

Even though it says Black Raven, and you can clearly see the #1, every comic book collector is obliged to respond just as he did.

She is being honest with the guy who made a fortune from her ignorance.
