I HAVE heard recently that not all “free range” birds actually are any more free than others ;-(
Some are warehoused in similar large buildings (but with a small access to outdoors) that does not allow most to even realize that they have the option. That was sad to hear. I have friends who keep as many as 6 chickens and they are happy and well fed (and have eggs I’d be happy to use raw).
The community where I plan to move does not allow chickens but I may try raising bees.
