Creepy clowns, creepy jack-in-the-boxes…

That pathetic “smek” sound makes me laugh every time.

Smek! And another creepy Jack-in-the-Box bites the dust! Those spring-driven creatures tend to fall dead (a small seasonal pun there)….

Nightmaresseem to result no matter how those things come out of the box.

At least this one’s better than the Clown in the Ceiling, you can see it coming (and coming… and coming…)

Hmmmm… Burger King’s king, Jack in the Box, Ronald McDonald… why do fast food chains get such creepy mascots?

I just love the single BING in the second panel!! LOL

Jack-In-The-Box is fully aware that many people find Jack disturbing. They play it up. Personally, I think their commercials are among the best on TV.

as363, I live in San Francisco and am not familiar with that, but I can’t tell if you’re joking (“clowning”) because it’s entirely plausible. Today is the Folsom Street Fair, where the dress code is “Wear leather, or wear nothing at all…either one is fine.” Looks like they’ve got great weather for it, too, provided everyone slaps on enough sunscreen (or saddle oil, as the case may be). Then again, that neighborhood is usually pretty sunny, even when the full moons are out.

This makes me hungry for an ultimate cheeseburger and curly fries. ;-D

I wasn’t near a computer yesterday and so wanted to comment on this. Now I forget what I had in mind. Still classic stuff.

Love the icon. There must be some history on the concept of Jack-in-the boxes like from the French revolution or something medievel. Will have to Google it.
