Grandma: I'd forgotten I had a dining room table in here. Mom: Did you see the lovely handprint turkey centerpiece Alice made in preschool? Alice: It's got a whole bag of cotton balls on it, and a whole roll of crepe paper and a whole roll jar of glitter! It's the first handprint turkey visible from the moon! Petey: Is it true that eating turkey can make you lose consciousness? Dad: Grandma's beet casserole! I'd forgotten how very, very, maroon it is.

Hey, at least Dad remembered his childhood lessons about making comments. Although it sounds like he was really digging deep trying to find a way to keep to that lesson.

that’s not the beet casserole, it’s the cranberry sauce, oh and yes. too much turkey can cause loss of consciousness.. haven’t experimented with smaller doses..

Ours was tame by comparison. Although we did sing a chorus of “Grandma got run over by a reindeer,” for Grandma.

We didn’t eat turkey, we ate eye-round steak.

Ham at our home, wonderful and blessed time. Hope you all were similarly blessed.

I think Grandma’s flatulence from the beet casserole is going to make everyone lose consciousness!

Notice how the food on Petey’s plate is carefully separated? Nothing is touching.

Conversation overload!!! Makes our T-Day dinner seem like isolation.

And yet I’m probably more like Petey than I care to admit. I don’t mix foods unless a recipe calls for it and of course, it meets with my personal approval. But I will not take what has been pre-separated and mix them all together. If I want to do that, I’ll enlist in the army.
