    Dill is very earnestly clipping away at whatever he’s making/doing. Meanwhile, Alice shows her practical side to her future husband. Marcus is pretty much just caught in the middle…. Like us.

    Uh-oh. That thing in the middle of the table looks for all the world like an ink bottle with a pen in it. And in the last panel, it looks as though the pen is upside down. At one school I attended we had desks with a hole for our ink bottles. A boy behind me actually dipped one of my pigtails into his bottle. How cliché-ish!

    @AgingstonerWhen I was a kid the desks had holes for ink bottles, but they weren’t used at that point. As the desks got replaced the newer ones didn’t gave the holes.
