Cul de Sac by Richard Thompson for November 22, 2015
Transcript:
Clown: Polyfill, why are you here? Polyfill: We're waiting, Bubsey. Clown: What for? Polyfill: For Alice, the boss of us! Clown: That girl who talks so much? Polyfill: Yack yack yack! Clown: I'm bored. Polyfill: Me too. Alice: Does anything ever happen in this comic strip? Petey: Let me finish reading it! Clown: Let's do this! Polyfill: I'm still bored. Clown: Let's get outta here! Polyfill: Yeah, lets! Alice: The ears-hat part was good, but draw one where Alice shows up and everybody gets happy. Petey: I told you- once I've signed my work, client imposed alterations are out of the question.

Petey invokes Artistic Privilege. But Alice, the prototype for Alice, has a certain vested interest as well.Maybe they could work out a compromise (e.g., Polyfill says “there’s Alice!” while she remains offstage)….
