@ Riff Gibson:Is Cul de Sac coming to an end? I will be so disappointed, though I do have a couple of book compilations to fall back on.I think this strip is so zany, especially Alice, who makes me chuckle most days.

She is what she is, and that’s all that she is!

Sadly Richard Thompson has Parkinson’s and is unable to continue the strip. Richard, thank you for the journey. It has brought humor and enrichment into my life.

Actually, as @Daniel Libutti states, he has Parkinson’s, not MS. And from his blog entries (what my links point to, not the GC strips), he stopped inking the strip (based on the publication time lag) in late February, or early March, 2012; this is the last he inked before taking a hiatus for Parkinson’s treatments. He then hired a surrogate to do the inking, and the first of those appeared March 26.Sadly, for what ever reason, that didn’t work out, and the last strip was published September 23 (a repeat of one Richard had inked earlier). So, we’re in the 4th year of the 5 year rerun. I haven’t heard if GC plans to do it again or not.

Wasn’t the strip before the repeats one where Peter Sr bought them ice cream from an ice cream truck?

Dill never fails to get to the heart of the matter! Alice has Popeye legs, all right, thanks to Petey (not spinach, which she probably doesn’t like anyway).

God bless Richard Thompson for this great comic strip. May it run without end!

Thank you all who replied to my query. I’m very sad to learn about Richard Thompson’s illness and send my best wishes to him. So tragic that a man who brings so much joy, fun and happiness to his readers should suffer so.
