Spider webs, ghosts hanging from the trees, and a witch handing out candy, thats halloween around here. And yes, I wear the raggedy dress and the pointed hat and fasten a wart onto my nose. I am gonna scare some small child silly this year because I bought green face paint and orange and purple socks to go with the rolled up slippers I wear. I am looking forward to it and have made sure I can screech and crackle! lol
For several years, we used a combination of a hidden microphone and a mechanical witch we nicknamed Hazel to rise up next to the front step when the doorbell rang. It did create quite a surprise for the kids, especially when “Hazel” would respond to the kids comments before the front door was opened..One year, a parent was so frightened (parent, not child), he complained bitterly it was not fair to do something so frightening on Halloween!.Can you imagine that? Doing something scary on Halloween! Shame on me…
I don’t even care right now about Halloween. We attended MIMFEST today (continues tomorrow in Phoenix). Those in charge left the acts up to those who wanted to appear in Phoenix so we got heavily loaded with Latin music; I’m glad I spent 2+ hours of the day in the actual museum.
Because of all the retired persons of different ethnicities in this area, this venue should prosper – just needs support from the populace!
