Well, I did lose a set of keys, about a year and a half ago…I’ve thought I lost my keys many times, but they always showed up. Except for that one time…I’d even swear they have to be in my own house…but I’ve never found them,
I really have come to believe there is a poltergeist in our house. I put something down and 5 minutes later is has disappeared only to turn up someplace else…….spooky.
Every week, when I do my laundry I think I lose a sock, it always turns up by the washer, on the floor. Recently lost my apartment keys as well as the one to my mailbox, that one cost me $50 to replace now my neighbors as well as my parents have a complete set of my keys.
@TonyWell, it frequently feels like I have lost my mind, but it usually turns up under the bed with the dust bunnies I can never quite reach with the broom.
@Tony“Lose anything?”.I’ve never lost anything. I may not remember where it is but it’s not lost because it’s exactly where I left it..BTW I never knew there were so many mindless people commenting here.
I feel helpless when I can’t remember the word I’m searching for. But there is a reason for that, At my age, my brain is so full that the word I’m searching for is usually at the bottom of the drawer and I have to go through a jillion other words to find it.That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.
As for the lost sock syndrome, I learned long ago to always buy the same brand and style socks. Eventually, one will end up with a hole, or mysteriously disappear; so when this happens, I throw the stray into the drawer with all its mates in the hope it will get together with one of its own and who knows… baby socks?
Yes, well, not me, my hubby did it. I have a missing knee sock. Since my husband retired, he has been doing some of the laundry. Those pair of knee socks are one of my favorites and warmest. It’s here somewhere in this house, no idea where he lost it! Unless it’s true, that dryers really do eat socks! :-D

I have a stack of single socks. Once in a great while a mate will turn up. I know I was wearing two when they went in to the machine!

Last Rose….
You wear your socks while he’s laundering them?
My goodness…. you’re lucky if a sock is all you’ve ever lost.
All that water, all that strong detergent…. don’t you get very agitated when you go through the wash cycle?
