I can attest that birth control isn’t fool-proof. My wife and I used it and our son turned 30 last April, sadly about a month after his mother died suddenly and unexpectedly.
I was camping out by myself at least by the age of 12. I’d take our ’47 Willys jeep and drive the mile or so down the county road to our pond and fish and camp, (and yes, I was a good kid, fish and camp was the extent of it, well, maybe chewing tobacco after a few years). Of course times were different 50 years ago.
