I brought my girlfriend a gift-wrapped box of salt, because I had seen she was running out (and I was dead-broke). It did not go over as well as I had hoped, even with the handwritten message on the box. :(
My sister did the exact same thing as Horace here. She asked our father one day what he wanted for his birthday and he said “Nothing”, so she got him a jar with nothing in it and on our father’s birthday gave it to him and said, “Here you go, Dad. It’s exactly what you wanted. I call it the Jar of Nothing!”

“Why is there something rather than nothing” is one of the great philosophical questions, as Melody asks the reverse.

Personally, if I were Melody, I would just concede that I set myself up for that and take my lumps for it. :P

I guess nothing is sacred. To Horace, at least.
(But to the late Kris Kristofferson, nothing ain’t worth nothing, but it’s free.)
