I always cross the street so I’m not following anyone or slow down my walking pace so they are far enough ahead of me to know I’m not a threat. I am a big bulky guy whom a lot of people feel intimidated by when they first see me. I even had a trainee at work so frightened of being around me that she quit at the end of her shift despite having spent several days training with other staff with no issues.
I have noticed the fear in women of me. So I make sure to not look at them or smile and no more. I am just a small man but even so the fear is there and I have studied why and well understand them. And am sorry it is so.
