Once, long ago, I drove through a red light at 3 AM because it was taking five minutes to change and no one else was driving on the streets. Turned out there was a patrol car halfway down the other block, just waiting to hand out traffic tickets. Would’ve preferred ghost traffic.

In Vienna they say, taxicabs always go on the red but have to stop on the green for the taxicab going the other way.
