Assuming there is more than one cable provider; BTW did we mention taxes and fees that aren’t subject to supply and demand?

So why do I have to pay for channels that I don’t want and if I want one particular channel I have to buy a package that includes others I do not want? If cable TV is ever forced to go alá carte half of the channels would go off of the air.

Cable prices are already “fixed”, that’s the problem.

The word for today is “monopsony.” That’s when you have more than one company but they don’t act like it.

That’s bull, there is no free market. Prices are set by businesses for maximum profit through the manipulation of prices by cartels of government and private individuals. It has nothing to do with fair and free competition.
