Why doesn’t she ask help from others in the commune? If there’s a gas leak she should warn other people there. Or there’s no one else there aside from Auntie Bellum
Well, it seems that her sniffer is not as impaired as we feared. Even in her impaired condition, I think she knows that she needs to get Auntie Bellum out somehow. She may have a shapely figure, but I doubt that she’s strong enough to move an invalid by herself.
She knows that it’s not safe for Auntie Bellum to stay, so she has to resort to Plan B, whatever that may be.
Looks like there was never an emergency evacuation plan in place. What if the place were on fire how would Auntie get out ? With her money they should have one of these to get her in and out of bed. We haven’t seen one but there must be a ramp for getting her in and out of the house.
Well….I am BAAAaaack! Just got reinstated from being banned, & they never let me even know I was, or more importantly to me, why. I have never been before, & try to be very careful with my comments. It could be someone flagged me for an unknown reason, a mistake, or my innocently & inadvertently saying something they didn’t like. No email warning or notice that I was banned. You find out by accident. When logged in, my comments show back to me as if normal, BUT, nobody else can see them. Just me, so how do I tell I have been banned? When logged out, then I can’t see them either. Wouldn’t you think I shouldn’t be able to see them either when logged in, so I would get the hint? A very strange policy, at least to me. Just my warning to others what can happen. Thanks to any who put in a good word for me at the moderator. I guess I will have to be super cautious now when commenting here.
Well, Cheesecake managed to find her phone and the door. I wonder how many others she left in the place. I don’t know about Auntie, but C-cake needs supervision.
Forced Epiphany: On reading of “Jarley’s Wax-Work” (“The Old Curiosity Shop”, chapter 27) came a sudden realization of the effects of the current Dick Tracy strip – each panel a tableau as if molded from pigments and forms by Curtis and Staton guided by the metabolic system of their histories. And, each of the readers, infinitely more complex moldings of organic chemistry based on the genetic memory and passing environmental influences. Poe – “All we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.” We all all melodies played by the atoms and molecules of which we are composed. I see.
Pouch should have been proactive in his approach (as real gas company sometimes is) and rang the doorbell before a call went out. By waiting until the real gas company is called he runs more risk of exposure as a fake. Fortunately Cheesecake appears to think the right person to call is Aquarius (or her old boyfriend, Tommy) but it too high at the moment to get the number right and wonders why he doesn’t answer.
What a buzz-kill this is turning out to be, ehh, Cheesecake? Alex isn’t answering (I think that who she tried first to call). And now what is she doing? Calling 911/fire department? I wouldn’t expect her to know the number of the gas company off the top of her cokehead nor to have it on her phone. Or is there some call-in to set off alarms in The 1312? Or is she just going to abandon the place, Auntie B., and all those hippies who flop there? At least she’s put on her warm jacket….

I thought she might be calling 911 (U.S. emergency number), but that looks more like a texting screen…

The gas fumes return Powder to her senses
1-HANG ON! That’s not Axe Body Spray! That’s GAS!
2-…Ok. Coat, check! Phone, check! I feel like I’m forgetting something…
3-DUMMY! I need to post a photo of me fleeing for my life. OK. Work up a tear just escaping from my left eye…GOT IT! Now for a heart-grabbing caption…
TODAY I LOST MY BELOVED AUNTIE BELLUM IN A GAS EXPLOSION Post and watch it go viral! WAIT! I’ve got to go back in…
…and light a candle to make sure this place explodes. My post would look silly otherwise…

I wonder if the tears are from frustration, fear, etc. or if the gas made her eyes burn?
