It happens on cruise ships alot. One person will get up at 7 AM and go put down towels for 12 people inthe choice spots on deck. Then he’ll go back to bed. At noon, when everyone rolls out of bed, they go out and claim their chairs.
The problem is that so many people do this that half the chairs are empty.
What I do is as soon as they have put their towels down and go back to bed, I pick up all the towels and throw them in the laundry bin.
You should hear them squeal when they come out and have no chairs to sit in.
