Even the happy-face looks a little skeptical. In re Joy’s shirt, after what Burl just said I don’t want ANYthing from him called a doggie bag, just in case…But…. where does it say her husband went? I can’t make out that one word, even with the magnification — which, BTW, magically colorises the strip today!

Bonanza. Depending on where you’re from, you may recognize that it’s a steakhouse with buffet. Usually, you aren’t allowed to bring anything home because people fill up on the buffet than ask for a “doggie bag” to bring home the “bones” for the doggie, but it would be filled up too, giving two dinners for the price of one -- tho’ in Joy and Burl’s case, it’s probably more like “several dinners” for the price of one. :)

Thank you Becky! Actually I’ve heard of Bonanza, though I’ve not seen one around here. We have the Sizzler, which might be similar.

    1. I would pay to watch River Dance on Ice. (I hate River Dance.) 2. Two entirely different meanings of “Doggie Bag” today.3. SusanSunshine: thanks for alerting us to the colour magnifier.

Yeah, but who would want to reuse the bags?

Pet peeve of mine: inconsiderate pet owners. Use the newspaper wrapper. Occasionally go less green at the groc to get more plastic bags. And pet stores sell ’em. I agree, NEVER accept anything from Burl in a plastic bag.

No one mentioned the sponsor listed for River Dance, Cortaid? Get it, relieves pulled muscles, etc.

And them re-using a “poo doggie bag” wouldn’t surprise me one bit! ;-D

@Dry and Otto – especially if his skates cut right through the ice when he stomped his feet! And @GymShoe – Usually Julie uses real titles, but I’m thinking the video might be a take-off on “Turner and Hooch”, which features Tom Hanks and a big dog.Unfortunately what it looks like is “Turner and Scooth”, but maybe she meant something like “Turner and Scootch?” Or Smootch?
