I KNOW .. what a big mouth! That’s Joy’s own, handwritten recipe that she made up, and doesn’t tell anybody…

    and Burl went and blabbed.

But…Joy’s OK… she realises that he didn’t really give away her secret….

Verl doesn’t know that her big sister makes it extra special by adding water.

This one is a total rerun from a year or so ago.

And yeah… we all know that orange jello, like strawberry, cherry, and that blue stuff, is casual.

Lemon, along with pineapple, cranberry, and lime, are reserved for formal occasions….

Many people don’t realise that when you combine one from each group, it’s acceptable any time.

Verla is a bit jealous that Joy knows all this…. she’s so sophisticated.

And I haven’t seen the finials in ages… through quite a few visits to this kitchen…

    Maybe they’re still stuck in someone’s back…

My mom used to put fruit cocktail in Jello. Not sure which contaminated what. (Or vice versa)

That was one “cooking” task that my mom took seriously (arranging the canned fruit in the jello before it set to make a “fancy” salad).

You know, for formal I would layer it, yellow over orange, but the nice thing is no fruit in it. Some gummiebears might be good in it for extra special occassions. That would give Burl something to make him chew and not just swallow every bite.

My MIL made green jello with pineapple and marshmallos for EVERY occasin, When we moved her to assisted living I found 23 boxes of lime jello in her cupboard!

The finials went out for sharpening several months ago. The bill was more than Burl thought, so they didn’t pick therm up. They always made me nervous anyway. I could picture stab wounds.

Formal. Consider seeing Burl in a cummerbund. (Or two, or maybe just an extension.)
