We had to do that with the kitchen cabinets for one of our cats. Her favorite game was to pull it open as far as it would go and then let it go. We at least knew where she was when we heard that annoying “bang, pause, bang” sound.
We had to put child locks on all our kitchen cabinets and bathroom drawers when we got our Calico rescue.
