Sophie suffers from WSOTDS, all our dogs had this to some degree, its not dangerous but its very hard on the hinges, by the way, it stands for ‘wrong side of the door syndrome’, doesn’t matter which side they’re on, they want to be on the other side.

Cats are guilty of this too, and in my experience, seem to be even more prone to it.

Puppies need stimulation of some sort. And when they are as smart as Sophie seems to be, they need even more. According to this comic, she is left to her own devices quite a bit of the day – no wonder she gets into mischief.

Had a Chocolate Lab years ago named Cocoa. Whatever side of a door she was on it was always ‘woof woof woof’. Always three barks and always the same tone. We interpreted it as “Cocoa in!” or “Cocoa out!” depending on which side of the door it was. (and that is really what she was wanting when she’d do that)
