I wandered out into the yard, concentrating on getting Sophie’s tennis ball from her. As we were wrestling for it, I heard the neighbor across the road chuckling. I threw my hand up in a wave to him when, out of the corner of my eye, I saw snow in the yard. It’s the middle of May and 75 degrees. Actually paying attention to my surroundings now, I noticed the deflated carcass of a pillow my better third had put on the porch to air out. Sophie had eviscerated it and now polyfill stuffing was spread over a half acre of front yard.

Pretend you did it to. They won’t be as made if there are two of us.

And wait until you see what is in the sofa cushions!

Now if we can just find some tar.
