As a comics expert, I’ve been doing some research into the plagiarism allegations against this comic.
My final analysis is that there are too many similarities to just chalk them up to ‘great minds.’ Of course that still doesn’t mean a ruling of ‘plagiarism’ is justified. One would have to know more about the writers state of mind and his or her motivations.
Final judgment: Charges dismissed due to lack of sufficient evidence.

There were articles on The Daily Cartoonist, The Washington Post, Google and Pooch Cafe’s Web site talking about these artists stealing material from another cartoonist.
I’m merely offering my expert advice on the matter.
For what it’s worth, many cartoonists study each others’ work and are often good friends. They freely admit that they “bounce” ideas off each other with no offense taken when the themes are shared…
