I had a dog named Bear who never understood fetch. I would throw – he would look at me like “why did you just throw that?”… I would trudge and go get it. My dog Buck, the champion at fetch, would say, “nope, not getting involved with THAT!”
I had a cat that liked to fetch. I started one day when I was in the kitchen, opening a new container of milk. She perked up when she heard the cap tear off. When I held up the little tear-off piece of plastic, her eyes widened, so I tossed it on the floor. Before it hit, she took a swing at it, batting it in the next room. She ran after it, brought it back, and set it down at my feet. I was impressed, so I picked it up and could tell she wanted to keep playing. I kept tossing it, and she’d bring it back to my feet. Anyway, I don’t think either of these two want to play. :)
