I hope the marriage survives the honeymoon.

Well, they can certainly ‘tie the knot’ securely.

When the world is invaded by giant cat-like aliens, we’ll be thankful for that giant ball of twine…

You go, kids!

Zipper is a loser, but this strip still reminded me of one of the many reasons I hate Facebook. Like we don’t have enough ways to get hurt as it is.

Oooh…I hope they go to Liberal, KS to see the Dorothy Museum!

It’s a shame they’re fictional characters and I can’t get their personal information from Facebook and rob them while they’re away from home.

And by the way, I think Alex and Leo are cute in this sequence. I predict a long, loving albeit fictional marriage.

The worlds largest teflon frying pan is just up the road!

I imagine with all the PTSD and possibility of flashbacks, this is just the kind of honeymoon Leo needs. That, and it just fits Alex’s personality. I see a long, happy, and successful marriage ahead!

Wonder if Alex and Leo will come across the Griswolds? Oh, that’s right…. Ellen told Clark “let’s just skip the world’s largest ball of twine.” (Courtesy of “National Lampoon’s Vacation”)

We didn’t expect this to be traditional, eh?

A honeymoon is all about the lady. We guys don’t really care so long as she is happy. If this trip makes the new bride happy and gives her memories she will cherish then do it guy.

They’re too far south! The world’s largest ball of twine is in Darwin, MN.

Social media…These forums kind of take me back to those thrilling days of yesteryear when social media consisted of calling a bulletin board, set up in some geeks living room, one at a time to read and leave messages, download software & play little text games. It all seemed so much more thrilling then.

Born in Kansas, but glad to have grown up in MA. I can’t imagine not believing in evolution.

Just so y’all know, my comment from yesterday:Kaffekup said, about 22 hours ago
“Hon, if you go four hours off the main road, you could see the world’s second largest ball of twine…”(Apologies to Clark Griswold). And I lived in KS for about three years back in the early 70’s, when it was still in the 20th century.

This is the EXACTLY perfect time to visit sites like this one. When you’re taking the kids around the country, there’s always the problem that they’ll take stuff like this seriously and begin collecting twine themselves.
Mythreesons over 12 years ago
We had a book called “Off the Beaten Track” with us when we RV’s around the country. Saw many unusual places and things. Loved every minute of it. Lordy, how I miss my husband and travel companion.

“…this land is your land, this land is my land…” – Is this trip GT’s homage to Woody Guthrie’s anniversary?

Deleted my Facebook account couple of weeks ago. The Eisenhower Museum is in Abilene, Ks., but I believe the Nimitz Museum is in his hometown of Fredericksburg, Tx.

That’s nothing! On our honeymoon my hubby took me to a gnome reserve. Yes, garden gnomes. (in England) Funniest part is that you had to wear a pointy hat, apparently so as to not scare the gnomes. It was insanely silly, but considering we have been married for many, many happy years, I guess it worked.

This kind of vacation is no good with kids because of all the driving. There’s a lot of dead time between attractions.
Unless they go a long way out of their way they’ve miss the Corn Palace. They can still do Carhenge if they head north from here, but I would save that for another trip.
cdward, my facebook friends are actually people I know. I like to meet new people, so I have my privacy set for “friends of friends”, but when I go out of town I lock it down to just “friends”. After I am home I open it back to “friends of friends”.
