He’ll be back…with just one more question..Never read “Crime and Punishment.” I have read “The Brothers Karamazov” and “Notes from the Underground.”

Loved yesterday’s “trading on our integrity”. Yup.

On a different subject, I recall that the 1988 Democratic front-runner for a long time (until he decided he’d rather have fun with a hot blonde) was Gary Hart. His name originally had been Hartpence, and one of the political cartoons at the time created a character named Pence, who allegedly got the other half of the name when it was split. Was that Doonesbury? I can’t remember. In any case, now’s a good time to bring him and Gary Hart back.

Somehow I doubt that Mr. Slackmeyer ever read Crime and Punishment, or much of anything else.

To those who have, I recommend, if you can find it, S. J. Perelman’s four-page parody, “A Farewell to Omsk.” It’s hilarious.

The book, or the parody, was required?

I read “The Tell-Tale Heart” for a live audience. They really went for it. Started off quiet and with a little bit of a tic, and went from there. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.
