I think Lacey might still have the brainpower to see this is a bad idea.

Maybe he’ll marry her—and inherit whatever wealth she still has!!

I think that happened on DYNASTY, once.

This comic, Doonesbury, has given us such an assortment of really quirky, idiosyncratic characters. Jeremy Cavendish, for one. But also Elmont and Alice, Zeke, Duke, and so many others whose names I cannot conjure up.

Plethora’s the word, man. It’s a Dickensian cavalcade. Also zeitgeisty. Neatarino!

Lacey had dementia thrust upon her. I’m not quite sure whether Jeremy was born demented or achieved it.

Until this arc,Jeremy was played as nothing more than an overeducated pest. But I think he WAS there for Lacey as she slipped away—-but she never knew it.\

And judging by his latest comments,Ted Cruz has had dementia since age 12.
