Norman: Wow, this place is busy, dad! Ralph: Yeah, it seems to be everyone's favorite burger joint! People hover over you while you're eating, hoping to get your table when you're done! It drives me crazy! Well, shall we... ... Stay awhile longer? Norman: That was mean!

I read my book, ignoring all around me. Sooner or later they realize I’m not going anywhere for a long, LONG time!

That was mean, but funny.

Never saw a burger joint that busy – too much competition.

IN-N-Out – Obviously. Every one I’ve ever been to has been that busy.

I thought the same about IN-N-OUT, but the palm trees should be crossed. (The original owner was a huge fan of It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World).
Maybe Fagan had to avoid that detail to keep the lawyers off his back.

Yeah, a-wholes tend to do stuff like that.

I was once in a situation where someone wanted my parking spot but was positioned so I couldn’t back out of the spot. I finally had to get out of the car and motion for her to back up and give me room. Sheesh!

Looks like my local Costco on any given weekend day at lunch time. People holding hotdogs and pizza, waiting for a table (they only have a few).

I wouldn’t go to a restaurant that is that popular. I like to eat my meal in peace without others hovering around waiting for me to get up.

Used to be a pancake joint in Ocean City, MD…well, the joint’s still there; but its original, irascible owner has passed on. But he had a trademark of addressing patrons with three gruffly voiced interjections: “Food good? Pay your bill? Get out; I need the space.” And he did — despite this “treatment,” people lined up around the block to get into the place. Still do today (during the beach season, of course).

Knowing you’re from the OC Kevin, I know that’s supposed to be In-n-Out Burger. And unlike the guy who said he’s never seen aline in a burger joint, we know they’re quite common.
