Norman: Dad, I need to go to the mall. Can I take your car?
Ralph: The mall is only two blocks away. I suggest you walk. If you walk, you'll burn calories and feel good! And he won't reprogram all of my radio buttons!
This brings to mind a very odd incident that happened to me. One chilly morning, I go out to my car, start it up, and begin driving to work. But when I turn the radio on, none of the programmed buttons work! I have to tune every station in manually. It turns out that my battery was so low, it couldn’t hold the programs(it wasn’t one of those old “pull-the-button-out-and-push-it-back-in” types). What I still haven’t been able to figure out is, why did the car start?
ChessPirateLucky coincidence. Cars have been known to start on the first rotation of the starter and the radio is rather low on the priority list for who gets the electricity in excess of what the battery needs (lights, horn, wipers, etc.).
