The AI has overplayed its hand, and Wally sees right through it. Give ’em hell, Wally!

Be careful Wally. The illusion can be used to cover a dangerous reality.

Speaking as an engineer, like Wally, it’s always good to have someone who’s able to critically analyze a situation.

No sure why he said “we found Holly”, except The Lyn character is trying to keep Wally away from her. Each episode is giving us more questions than answers.

Cm’on, Computer – if you’ve been abandoned on this plane because it isn’t dead, and they can’t take you back across the multiverse because of the toll… You’d better figure out how to work /with/ Wally and the survivors here and become useful – or you’re just going to stay abandoned forever.

The AI is programmed to only work “with” its Captain. And apparently it has ridged rules on who it considers its captain.

Wally is beating the Lyn construct without regard for what it might be hiding, after declaring that they’d found Holly. The computer might have tricked Wally into hurting Holly, perhaps fatally, so it could feed off everyone’s anguish. It had already tried the Fake Dead Wally trick, so a Fake Dead Holly wouldn’t work this time. It might go for the real thing.

Is that a telling statement from Wally? “a computer that [actually] thinks it’s Lyn” not just the computer mimicking Lyn for the drama.

Jim’s Schism Syndrome, perhaps the creepiest episode in the series so far:

That’s not Lyn. That’s not even the ship’s computer thinking it’s Lyn. That’s HOLLY. Wally is fighting Holly, and I think he knows it, which is why he said this is where things get difficult.

Holly’s near-insane levels of guilt over everything that happened, combined with the strength of her personality, are a massive power boost to the ship. It probably hasn’t had this much juice since it crashed, and it’s dealing with the fact that her projection is so powerful by anthropomorphizing her guilt and rage into a faux Lyn.

I am calling it right here. When Wally digs down into the depths of this nightmare to the core, he’ll find Holly in fetal position, begging him to leave her there to die.

The Oracle “foresaw” Gustine’s schism, but I think it was watching identical realities where she did schism, and took action to keep it from happening in this reality. The Oracle and Marx are apparently working together to forestall other tragedies they saw happening in other realities, and sent Wally and Holly out on a secret mission that was secret even to them, to thwart Edmund and possibly other seen monsters, including Jim. Jim may have gained the ability to see other realities, too, if he wasn’t lying, and saw from them how this reality’s Holly could die. Jim used that knowledge to taunt Wally instead of trying to prevent Holly’s death, however.

I have the unsettling feeling Marx and the Oracle had Mallard send Wally and Holly out not just for reconnaissance but to sacrifice their lives “for the greater good”. They knew they were sending them out on a suicide mission. But then, everyone goes out to the surface expecting to die anyway.

They need to find Holly and then they need to find the exit.I hope Wally is right in saying they have “found” Holly.Since they can go from occupied bubble to occupied bubble, and the bubble can hold, we assume a mouse, and Since Wally an apparently “will the bubble to move”, then Will they be able to flow around the area? Will the AI Lyn we able to stop them from finding a way out?I can picture him having a tantrum in the big head, helpless because he has no arms to hold them in place.Imagine the joy when the Dittos take them to the nearest exit and turning into that dune buggy!

Does anyone else have a problem with seeing the latest episode? Lately I’m not getting the updated strip until late in day.
