I love the way Elephant cuts short a protracted discussion with a short experiment. Scientific method can be hazardous though: “Here, catch this mattress….”

The dynamic duo of detergent!

Boy, those dittos are hungry!

Cat-Man and Elephant-Boy, fighting grime wherever they go.

Wally is realizing the dittos are getting out of control and he’s looking more worried than anything.

Dittos running wild. Maybe they are so bored, that they are looking for work themself.

The dittoes are getting bored. After all, they’ve been there for two years. It could get downright dangerous but so far I like the sit-com presentation of this part of the arc.

Why does elephant get rubber gloves and Wally doesn’t?

Interesting speculation here, but we all know that Mr. Neathery doesn’t do nice little fairy tales. I’m pretty sure there’s darkness ahead.

if the Dittos are reacting to his subconscious this could be VERY bad considering his disdain for the leadership of this colony…

ok there needs to be a short comic having these guys being dressed up superheroes fighting stained themed villains.

Mr. Clean & Stain Fighter leap into action!

The Dittos bonding to the family, bringing out their subconscious will. I wonder if want for a reason to leave didn’t also help that seedling sprout thanks to Ditto-vention.Chick might also find his amulet more than a superstitious token should he be scared enough.

The dittos work through some kind of psychic link. Subconsciously, Wally is telling himself to clean up his act.

Where’s Professor Xavier when you need him?

It’s all going down the wash.

Dittos can be set to keep automatically cleaning everything they see. What could possibly go wrong?

Elephant has psychic control over dittos same as Wally.

He was just being playful by tossing the stained laundry to Wally and blaming Wally for cleaning it.

They are, or were, Wally’s dittos that Elephant is using.

Perhaps the Dittos have evolved intelligence and ability to think for themselves. Perhaps a hive-mind?
