There needs to be an object to receive the thanks. God is the deserving one. Even Mom who has the skills and desire to cook has those gifts from God. Maybe the kids in this strip who are shallow brats could have benefited from parents who believe and taught them about the grace of God. Would make a difference in their respect for each other.
