Keep the generals in the back room playing with their toys, the good thing is it keeps them out of trouble. In the 1930s there was a thing called the “rainbow” war plans, color coded plans were drawn up to invade every region on the planet including Canada and South America, these days they use computers. Please give them as many plastic tanks as they want and keep them playing with their toys on the table.
This reminds me of the episode of the Big Bang Theory where the boys are in the cafeteria fighting the civil war with everything from superheros to hindu gods.
There was a great satire article on the 1937-38 war between Japan and USSR in Manchuria which featured the Type 97 Attack Lizard. Most were killed and eaten by Soviet troops as an improvement on military rations, but one survived and after WW-II became a movie star.
