well, the blind and visually-impaired do get audio commentary… even my “Daredevil” DVD (with Ben Affleck) comes with that option

Doctor Who fans do this. There are early episodes that exist only as audio. One can buy CDs that combine the audio and narration.

We made a cassette tape recording of “The Pirates of Penzance” when it was playing on HBO. Listened and sang along to that for years!
