The black Wegie (Norwegian Forest Cat) and the Tuxedo and a Siamese are all under a warm wood burning stove sleeping in the catloaf position. If you get close enough you can hear their synchronised purring.
This happens a lot more often than most people would think. Cats tend to have a non-interventionist philosophy, except for prey. Mine warn me not to act like prey.

Doing nothing does reduce the potential for unintended negative second order consequences.
But if you go that route, don’t whine about the outcome if you failed to act to prevent it from happening.
