Lawrence only understands only what a 5 or six year old understands for he is not thinking of a new daddy or even for his mom’s sex life but for him self.

Gosh Connie, where is it written that you need a man at your side to be happy?

“You have a partner”? NO, she has a HUSBAND. It is NOT a dirty word. The fact that Connie avoids the very use of the word shows that she is not ready for, or able to have, that kind of relationship.

    summerdog says:

“Gosh Connie, where is it written that you need a man at your side to be happy?”

Nowhere summerdog, but it might work fine for some of us, maybe even Phil! ;-)

Well, I can tell this is a re-done strip, so I’d say that LJ stuck in “partner” to be politicaly correct for today’s times. I’ll just bet that the original one would say “husband”.

    plus4 says:

I think I’m starting to see why Lawrence turned out the way he did. His upbringing is fitting the common pattern of weak/dysfunctional mom & absent (or distant or abusive) dad.

People who are gay do not “turn out that way” they just are. Probably from birth, In this day and age that stupid belief still exists! ARRRGHHHH!

Plus 4 and ST – You both beat me to it. I always wondered if Lynn intentionally portrayed the dysfunctional family pattern that causes gay behavior or was it just a subliminal acceptance of the fact?

Whatever the reason, I truly feel sorry for every “Lawrence” that has had to go through this, and wish there were some way I could help them.

Connie is a very selfish person who should be ashamed of herself.

If heterosexual orientation is considered something that most people are born with, it makes perfect sense to believe that homosexuals are also born that way. (Or do all you heterosexual people claiming it does think you would have turned out gay/lesbian had you been raised in a less stable household?) Saying sexual orientation is a result of dysfunctional families is like saying left-handed people come from dysfunctional families just because most of the population in born right-handed and that is considered the norm. I know plenty of straight people from dysfunctional families and plenty of homosexuals from normal families. There is no statistically evidence correlating sexual orientation with what kind of family someone grew up in.

I agree with you lakita-lover. With all the dysfunctional families out there today if that was enough to have bearing on one’s sexual orientation, heterosexuals would rapidly be heading to minority status.

I’m completely opposite of bluetopazcrystal…I can’t believe people believe homosexuals are born that way.
