Oooh, yeah, paul345… That would be just what she needs too. Too bad he would probably make up a lame excuse which she would totally buy.
Although I’ve been reading this comic for years, I don’t remember this storyline. Probably because I was a kid the first time around and this was not interesting to me. But now it is…
ITA lightenup, I remember reading this comic only when the kids were featured. If I opened the paper and saw today’s comic, I would have skipped right over it!
Me too lightenup and arsmall. That and family shows like Little House on the Prairie, if it was going to center around adults, I wanted no part of it.
If she’s got family nearby, then everybody gets a vacation. I have a friend who’s a widow since the kids were babies, and both she and her kids valued a week or 2 every year with the kids at the grandparents’, up till they went to college. Kept them sane, and she and the kids/grandparents both travelled. It doesn’t have to be “dumping” him, though I’m sure it could. It’s all their attitude.
My parents never dumped me. If I was real good I could spend a week at Grandma’s or summer camp. My mom was so happy for me when I went.. She always cried when I came home.
Farley IS cute, and look at how small he still is. Eddie was cute too and yet very different than his dad. I was glad that Eddie (and Dixie) never died.

Now, wouldn’t sending it to him by mail be just a tad bit cheaper? (Heh, heh, heh……)

And my guess is, she’ll see Phil with company…and she’ll come crashing to earth!

She’s leading up to asking Elly to watch Lawrence while she goes. Having him tag along would ruin her plans.

Didn’t she just get back from Montreal – where he was playing in a band or something? I suspect there will be an unexpected encounter on this trip.
