And although we can’t see it, she is walking away with her hands in her pockets – the classic Patterson victory dance after making a good cut down or pun.
probably, the homework is, do a math equation in the section and colour the answer based on the chart, if the answer is right you get a proper picture in the end.
I hated homework, as a kid ! I saw no reason for it or value in doing it.It was only years after I was out of college, that I realized, the discipline learned from doing “homework”, and “research”, stood me in terrific stead, in the real, adult, working world.
Rarely did homework assignments, but usually got As on tests. Got C report card grades as result. Family was military and moved a lot, so experienced several different school systems. Teaching methods in US schools were mostly junk. Worse now.
Besides my homework also took copious notes in class. Read all my notes before a test and decided I didn’t need to do more studying since if I didn’t know by then I never would. Graduated with honors.
comicsssfanPrivate schools excel because they can kick out any student who doesn’t. There is a strong attempt to return to the days when the wealthy had the education and the poloi were barely literate. Kept the competition down. I doubt homeschooling is anywhere as good a public education unless the parent is a qualified teacher. I remember a local case in which a child was home-schooled so that they could be educated in science (which the public school thought satanic). The mother had a masters in education and the father a doctorate in clinical psychology. This was the only case I have seen of quality homeschooling. There is a statistical illusion in the high percentage of winners in memorization competition such as spelling and geographical subjects, but is due to personalized training (and often a lack of other subjects).

My mother claims my sister used to send more time on the phone complaining to friends about her homework than doing it.

Most homework is useless nonsense that teaches one nothing but how to jump through hoops.
