oh, hello, Martha

That’s Martha. I really dislike it when girls are drawn as if they’re submissive, looking up at their masters. Just draw her head the normal way, eye to eye, head level. So, we’re heading for a week of the beginning of Martha-Mike romance.

A few notes:

1. What you will need to know is that in these reprints, in order to line up the February 14 strip with Valentines’ Day, they did not reprint the comic strip right before this one. It’s worth a look:

2. We have the first appearance of Martha in 10 months. The last time we saw her, she and Michael broke up at MIchael’s 13th birthday party back in April, because she had been dancing with Lawrence. In the interim we have only seen Michael mention her and say that she was seeing someone else (presumably Lawrence). Since she is dipping her head in deference to Michael in the final panel, we can assume she is ready to begin the peace talks.

Scratch that last remark.

And Dean Martin suddenly starts singing “when the moon’s in the sky like a big pizza pie, that’s amore…”

Oh so we’re leaving Allyson behind and going back to Martha? Great…

What happened to the last week’s story arc? Just ended rather abruptly.

Well there you go. The trap has snapped shut. The bait has grabbed you. Rats. Now you have to either have a good time or be a king sized heel. Go.

What happened to Friday’s story line? They were outside under the bleachers, wondering what next…?

are you going to tell what happened next getting the girl drunk under the bleacher ?

Guess its gonna be “A fool I be.” LOL!

If nothing else, Allison learned a lesson. We all learned that lesson. Listen with your brain not your heart/ego!

I had noticed that Gordy was quite upbeat about the dance. What was wrong with Michael? Why did he come to the dance if he is all gloom & doom? Or did I miss something?

What about the girl under the bleachers?!!! Is that going to just be left alone?

Isn’t it amazing how many people ask questions here without ever looking for answers?

Okay, for those who don’t know about or didn’t see the post about the link to the previous comic that howtheduck kindly gave us, here’s a quick summary of that comic. (I’m hoping this confusion and questioning will be helped, though I don’t usually do this kind of reporting.) Mike and Gordon decide to go back to the dance. Allyson is lying on the ground. Peter tells her to get up, and when she can’t, he tells her to just go ahead and lie there and freeze.

She must have come without a date. :P

Am I the only lost one who wonders what happened with awful story line from last week (girl drinking with boys)? I wanted to know that the guys came to the rescue or did SOMETHING! But suddenly we’re inside the party. . .
