I can remember one papal election when there was confusion because the smoke was the wrong colour. I think it was the election of John XXIII.

I would NOT call that smell ‘potpourri.’ I’d call it BOVINE EXCREMENT ………….

“Popery” and smoke! A double zinger today. Well done.

Potpourri is pronounced popery. Sounds like electing a new Pope.

If only the next one would take the name George Ringo I, I’d be happy.

Well, they certainly seem to have fixed the smoke problem . . . .
