Jasons weekly allowance day, ha ha ha

Let us pray Jason does not use the same tactic on Father’s Day next month.

Calvin tries something similar in today’s Calvin and Hobbes rerun.

Sorry Jason .. your allowance was used to pay for the laundry soap to clean your clothes and bedding … and purchase your food … and pay for your time on the internet … etc.

Sorry Jason, you card fails to amuse. No allowance!

Funny. The Calvin and Hobbes Mother’s Day strip from decades ago was pretty much like this.

You ever notice how Bill Amend always makes fun of Pearls Before Swine and then does something like this?

Sounds like a good argument for not disbursing allowances on Sunday. Or Monday, too many holidays that can be hijacked. Which has me wondering: for those of you who give or have received allowances, what day of the week does it happen?

Not a “nice save” at all.

Jason smiles because he’s her son, he laughs because there’s nothing she can do about it. I use this over at Calvin &Hobbes but it fits Jason too.

My folks tried giving us our allowance on Sunday so we would still have a nickle (it was a long time ago) to drop into the collection plate. But when some of the kids failed to plan ahead and then couldn’t afford to go to the movie or buy a snack on Saturday, some of them were so loud and obnoxious about it (and of course a few of us were obnoxious right back, having actually saved our allowances) … that my Mom convinced dad to give it out on Friday.

Jason, you lose 1000 nerd points for your Mudder’s reference. If you are going to reference mudders then any nerd worthy of his pocket protector should show a statue of Jayne!

I like the muppets. Gonzo is the best.

I was going to buy a card With hearts of pink and red, But then I thought I’d rather Spend the money on me, instead.

It’s awfully hard to buy things When one’s allowance is so small… (ahem) So I guess you’re pretty lucky I got you anything at all.

Happy Mother’s Day to you. There, I said it. Now I’m done. So how ’bout getting out of bed, And cooking breakfast for your son?
