Had a plumber recently come in and unclog a kitchen sink. Had to run a snake out about thirty feet to hit the clog. Whole process took, maybe, twenty minutes. $237.00! Needless to say, that’s the last time I call a plumber!
Yeah, the older I get, the more willing I am to pay someone else to do certain tasks. It’s worth not having to deal with the pain for a couple of days afterward!
When a plumber charges $70 for a 5 minute job, one should consider that he is able to charge that much, because he knows EXACTLY what needs to be done, and HAS THE EXACT tools needed to make it a five minute job. The $70 is the “knowing what the ^$(@$ you’re doing fee” – and they have earned every penny.
Why is it that comic strips and situation comedy shows always make the husband look like a complete dork when it comes to ‘fixing things’? We’re not all imbeciles, you know! Talk about stereo-typing.
Well, I still remember when I had a cracked cast iron drain pipe and I didn’t want to bother with it in the tight crawl space. I could not find any plumber that was willing to take on the job at any price! I wound up doing it myself. This was in a city where they would not let me replace it with PVC either, I had to put in cast iron no hub. But at least the no hub is better than the old days with lead joints.
Maybe it’s because I learned a lot of plumbing skills from my dad (copper, PVC, steel), but I honestly can’t believe why anyone would be so incompetent when it comes to fitting pipes together…

No. Now it’s a legitimate $600 job.

Roger really took his “crack” at the problem.

Is plumber’s crack why they can fix the problem?

I bet Mr. Rooter wouldn’t have done that.

Just one more reason why Roger Fox shouldn’t be allowed to fix ANYTHING.
