Hey don’t laugh, I had a dentist who was the landlord of the medical office building where he worked, renting out spaces to other dentists and doctors. I think he probably made more money in rent than he made from fixing teeth.
“When I was young”Boy, there is a dying art. When was the last time you were actually able to find a good shoe repair shop? I suppose, when you are able to buy cheap made in China shoes for a fraction of what they should cost, why bother to have them repaired? The last two pairs of shoes I purchased were New balance, and they were made in the good old USA!
We lost a darn good shoe repair guy about a year ago to kidney failure—a virus of all things! He was ‘old school’, could do almost anything with leather…he made belts, fixed shoes(installed custom zippers in my jump boots for work) or built saddles. He was the go-to-guy for saddlery, sold heavy duty work shoe/boots. Now I’ll have to drive 80 miles round trip to find a guy his equal.
If he could get connected to ObamaCare he would be overflowing with patients……. probably have to set up beds on the sidewalk…………… with no borders or baricades……
