Frazz by Jef Mallett for August 01, 2011
Transcript:
Caulfield: Hey! July and August are both 31-day months! The guy who invented the calendar was thinking! Put as many days as possible into summer- genius! Frazz: December and January are consecutive 31-day months, too. Caulfield: And he didn't forget about the people in the southern hemisphere.

Frazz frequently does outsmart Caulfield—and vice versa. Even better, Frazz appreciates Caulfield’s genius, and helps keep it pointed into (mostly) safer directions than it might be otherwise. Thank goodness!

Actually, August used to have 29 days … it was later changed to 31 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August) … seems to me that this is the kind of trivia that Caulfield wouold know.

Yeah, if Julius Caesar and Caesar Augustus hadn’t been such egoists, we would probably still have just 10 months (Sept =7, Oct = 8, Nov =9, with Dec =10, i.e. decimal, decade for 10 years, decimate for reducing by 10%, and so on.) Give him time, Caulfield knows this, and will give us more of his humor. His education, not his ignorance, serves up the laughs, and philosophy.

Those extra days in December and January should have been thrown into June and September. 2 less days for rotten old winter that way!
