Frazz by Jef Mallett for December 25, 2016

Caption: The sun sets close to 5pm but I cannot yet leave and do my Christmas run when it is merely Christmas eve. So many hours of darkness left- the sun comes up at eight- though Sunday Christmas runs aren't really safe to start that late. The way the Vanderhydes trade paint with Mrs. Pettigrew, as Lester, Dr. Crustman and the Pfister sisters do their nascar imitation in their Chryslers racing to the choicest parking space at church and even choicer pew but not too early, either, as the quarter moon (just right to gently set the snow aglow in periwinkle light) comes up at half past four, which means at five-o-five it's prime conditions and position to confirm it's running time to start my yearly solo gloria excesis deo, and make like meb keflezighi once I've planned like Galileo.

Merry Christmas, Jef. May you always plan like Galileo even when you no longer run like Meb.

Frazz or Jef can only dream that they make like Meb.

These days, I plan like Meb and run like Gallieo!!……
2005 Christmas panel…….I grew up near Charlotte, NC, and the Charlotte paper always ran a nice article on the day after Christmas that highlighted the work of the local Jewish community that covered so many of the medical needs on Christmas Day. A tip of the hat to the generosity of their spirit.
