Not likely, Frazz. Maybe when the poles switch places, if any of us survive that.

Why do businesses have to be so cold in the summer. It is a shock to the system and makes me cut short my shopping.

We could hope. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think I read that stores in some large cities leave their doors open to invite the public into the airconditioning. A hold over from when airconditioning was new.

Around here, when that point arrives, it is then time for an inch of pine pollen to coat the glasses……

I feel his pain. It normally doesn’t get cold enough to fog mine during the winter, but my public places fog mine all summer long.

While there are occasional places that do run colder than I would like in the Summer, for the most part, I think the air conditioning is refreshing. I don’t see a real need to criticize or change the basic pattern.

As we were getting set to roll over to Y2K, Time magazine published a list of the Top 10 of everything from the 20th Century. #4 on the list of Top 10 Inventions was air conditioning. They had a point.

I was surprised to find out that settings in the low 60’s became standard in the 1970’s and never changed. Which includes hospitals and clinics! And this is where you wear things that are easily removed and one can get very cold that way. Women complain because they have to put on coats and sweaters in summer while working in 62 degrees F in the building.

At this point, I’d settle for weather feeling more like spring, let alone summer. However, things are supposed to be not nearly as cold tomorrow. Finally!

Most buildings are much too cold in summer….I take a sweater everywhere. Companies waste a lot of money on ac….I really liked being in Hawaii where the buildings I was in had the ac on at a reasonable temp, but left the doors open (or didn’t even have doors) so the mixture was very comfortable.

It’s less about the temps of the AC and more about the HUMIDITY of outside. In Nevada 100+ degrees never fogged my glasses, but in Mississippi going into 85 out of a 74 sure could!
