i always wondered how my basset managed to keep his ears out of his food dish

I think cats and dogs do have the sense of taste, but possibly not for the same tastes we do (sweet things, for example, at least for cats.)

My beloved cat never like to eat the stinky tuna from the can. But he loves to eat fresh tuna like “StarKist” or “Chicken Sea.” He would consume all of the fresh tuna in a few minutes.

Flap them ears!
