When our little Ty, smallest Border Collie we’ve ever had, came home from spaying she was supposed to rest so not to tear her stitches. So we put her behind a gate with only narrow vertical bars, confident she’d never try to climb it. Went out to dinner and found her happily on the other side of the gate when we got home, stitches intact. There was nothing that dog couldn’t climb if she was of a mind to be on the other side. She didn’t quit until she was in her teens, losing her hearing and scaring herself when she got out. Miss her like crazy.
