It’s a really old story. The original Italian story ends with the families back to fighting again within a short period of time, which is far more realistic.
Like Hamlet, where Shakespeare considered having the Title character become a beekeeper, and, on discovering one of his hives was inhabited by only two bees, or possibly two hornets, was heard to ask, “Two bees or not two bees?–that is the dern question!”
