Don’t be a stick in the mud. Give the kid a mud pie for a treat.

only it’s not mud they usually sling and this came from what your dog left in our front yard.

AKA “An Honest Politician!”..

And mud is a pleasantry for this stuff, aka a lie.

Muddy hands or a campaign sign would have made that obvious enough. ;-)

One year our kids dressed up as campaigning politicians — during an election campaign. Several people were much amused — including the guy who worked for the provincial premier.
