I’m 64 years old and I have little patience for people who use their age as an excuse to be technology challenged. Back in the 80’s I bought a home computer. I have been upgrading it every year since then. When cell phones came out, I bought one and learned how to use it. When PDAs came out, I did the same. When Palm integrated the PDA with the phone, I retired my old cell phone and my Handspring and got a Palm 650. When the internet became popular, I got into it. I have owned 3 laptops and I have high speed internet and I have retired my old Palm and gone to Droid. I determined long ago that I am not going to let the world pass me by, and I advise all others in my age bracket to do the same.

To me it has nothing to do with ageism, it has everything to do with the TIME it takes to read the manuals. But here comes my 22-year-old and with two quick ‘dit-dits’, puts me to shame. I doubt I could have programmed the durn things when I was his age…

Maybe people should just use whatever they are comfortable with… No crime; no penalties.
